  5. Recognizing Dr. Fernando Senior

fernando senior

IBSTPI (International Board of Standards for Training, Performance, and Instruction) is honored to recognize the many contributions to our board of directors made by Dr. Fernando Senior Canela. His years of service and dedication to our board have shaped and strengthened our mission to design and deliver international competency standards for instructional, training, and performance roles.

During his 15 years of board service, Fernando has supported and collaborated with four generations of directors from Australia, Canada, China, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, Portugal, South Africa, Turkey, and the United States. His dedication to our work has made him the longest-serving director on our board.

As President, he led us through a critical phase of transformation and supported three other presidents as their Executive Vice President to ensure the continuity of our work.

Fernando is an accomplished learning strategist from the Dominican Republic, serving academic, industry, non-profit, and governmental institutions in English and Spanish-speaking countries. He also represents QM (Quality Matters) in the Latin American and Caribbean region, a quality assurance organization for digital education.

Join us in celebrating Fernando’s contributions to our board, our discipline, and his new honorary role as an IBSTPI Fellow (an “active” Fellow, as he warns us).

Thank you, Fernando!
