The IBSTPI Board of Directors is pleased to announce the election of Dr. Lisa Giacumo as a new Director-at-Large, following her election at our September Board of Directors Meeting.
Dr. Giacumo is a tenure-track Associate Professor of Learning Design and Technology at George Mason University. Her research and teaching focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as designing for global and cross-cultural workplace learning needs, learning analytics, learner experience design (LXD), the use of technology for workplace learning and performance improvement, and preparing instructional designers. Dr. Giacumo has extensive international experience as an instructional designer, trainer, and manager across businesses, universities, non-profits, and NGOs. In 2022, she was honored as a Fellow of the U.S. Office of Naval Research.
As IBSTPI undertakes its competencies refresh project, Dr. Giacumo’s expertise will significantly contribute to and enhance the success of this vital initiative among all of our efforts.
