This study replicates and extends prior research on instructional designers’ perceptions of the 2012 IBSTPI instructional design competencies. Drawing on survey responses from 439 practitioners across diverse professional contexts, the researchers examined which competencies remain essential, which have shifted in importance, and which emerging areas may deserve greater attention.
