Yasin Yalcin is an assistant professor of Computer Engineering at Recep Tayyip Erdogan University, Turkey. Dr. Yalcin has a Ph.D. in Instructional Systems and Learning Technologies from Florida State University where he earned a number of awards for his scholarship including the Outstanding Doctoral Student Award and Outstanding International Student Award. He has over 10 years of professional experience in the field of Instructional Design and Technology (IDT) as a researcher, instructor, and instructional designer.

Dr. Yalcin has published in a number of top-tier journals including the British Journal of Educational Technology and Educational Technology Research & Development. He is interested in conducting research on the development and measurement of competencies in instructional design and teaching, learner competencies in online learning environments, and online learners' motivations and behaviors.
