Chris Prokes (USA)
Dr. Chris Prokes is the Director of eLearning Strategy and Innovation at Sinclair College in Dayton, Ohio, the oldest continually operating community college in North America where he also holds an adjunct appointment. He is a member of ITC and AECT and speaks frequently at their conferences and is also a member of the AECT Terminology Committee. Chris is also an experienced K-12 consultant working with school boards and state-level efforts aimed at school finance, improving educational outcomes, standards development, and technology integration. His research focuses on competency-based education (CBE), accessibility of eLearning design, and the intersection of digitization and pedagogy in higher education. Prior to Sinclair, Chris was a teacher, coach, technology coordinator, and administrator in multiple school districts for ten years.
He holds a degree in secondary education and a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from Bowling Green State University along with a doctorate in educational technology from Boise State University. He was the executive editor for the Ohio Social Studies Review from 2016-2020. Chris is also an active in the Dayton region serving as the Secretary of his community's Soccer Club, school district Community Advisory Board, serving as a trustee for the Frank M. Tait Foundation, and was a 2017 recipient of the Dayton Business Journal's 40 under 40 award. He also works as a sports official and assignor of officials at various levels.
